About NAB statements
NAB statements are typeset consistently across personal and business products, which makes multi-account conversions straightforward.
How to download your NAB statement as a PDF
Sign in to NAB Internet Banking, open the account, choose Statements, and download the PDF.
Always take the statement file the bank issues rather than printing a transaction list from the browser. The issued statement is the document of record, and it converts more reliably than a printed page.
What a NAB statement looks like
A dated table lists particulars, debits, credits and balance for the statement period.
NAB quirks to watch for
These are the details that break a copy-paste into Excel, and the reason a NAB statement rarely lands cleanly on the first try:
- The particulars column carries both the counterparty and the reference.
- Fees and government charges are itemised at cycle end.
- Day-month dates without the year inside the table.
- Australian statements print dates day first and often omit the year in the table. Both are normalised on export so nothing shifts on import.
What you get back
Every NAB conversion returns the same columns, in AUD, so statements from different months and different accounts stack in one spreadsheet without rework:
| Date | Description | Amount | Balance |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2026-03-04 | CARD PAYMENT TO SUPERMARKET | -64.20 | 2,481.19 |
Check the export before you use it: opening balance plus the sum of the amount column should equal the closing balance printed on your NAB statement.
Why not just export from NAB directly?
Use the direct export when it covers the period you need. It rarely does. Direct CSV, OFX and QBO downloads are usually capped at a recent window, while PDF statements stay available for years, and they are the only thing left once an account is closed. Converting the PDF removes the date limit entirely.
Frequently asked questions
+How is the year determined?
From the statement period in the header, then applied to every row including periods that cross into January.
+Do NAB business statements convert?
Yes, business transaction accounts use the same layout.
+Is the NAB statement converter free?
Yes. No signup, no email and no watermark on the output. The only limit is a 10MB file size.
+Do you store my NAB statement?
No. The PDF is processed in memory to build the CSV and is never written to disk or retained.
+Is this service affiliated with NAB?
No. This is an independent tool with no connection to NAB. It reads a PDF you already have and never connects to your account.
