About USAA statements
USAA statements are digitally generated and consistent month to month, with a simple chronological ledger that reconciles easily against the closing balance.
How to download your USAA statement as a PDF
Sign in at usaa.com, open the account, go to Documents or Statements, and download the PDF.
Always take the statement file the bank issues rather than printing a transaction list from the browser. The issued statement is the document of record, and it converts more reliably than a printed page.
What a USAA statement looks like
An account summary is followed by a single dated activity table with description, amount and running balance.
USAA quirks to watch for
These are the details that break a copy-paste into Excel, and the reason a USAA statement rarely lands cleanly on the first try:
- Deposit descriptions abbreviate military pay allotments in a distinctive format.
- Insurance and investment documents live in the same document centre but are not bank statements.
- Some periods include a separate ATM fee rebate block.
- US statements print dates month first, which is what a US-configured spreadsheet expects.
What you get back
Every USAA conversion returns the same columns, in USD, so statements from different months and different accounts stack in one spreadsheet without rework:
| Date | Description | Amount | Balance |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2026-03-04 | CARD PAYMENT TO SUPERMARKET | -64.20 | 2,481.19 |
Check the export before you use it: opening balance plus the sum of the amount column should equal the closing balance printed on your USAA statement.
Why not just export from USAA directly?
Use the direct export when it covers the period you need. It rarely does. Direct CSV, OFX and QBO downloads are usually capped at a recent window, while PDF statements stay available for years, and they are the only thing left once an account is closed. Converting the PDF removes the date limit entirely.
