About Truist statements

Truist is the BB&T and SunTrust merger, so many customers hold an archive spanning three different statement designs. All three convert, which matters if you are rebuilding several years of books.

How to download your Truist statement as a PDF

Sign in at truist.com, select the account, open Statements & Documents, and save the PDF.

Always take the statement file the bank issues rather than printing a transaction list from the browser. The issued statement is the document of record, and it converts more reliably than a printed page.

What a Truist statement looks like

Current Truist statements show an account summary, then deposits, credits, withdrawals, checks and a daily balance summary in labelled sections.

Truist quirks to watch for

These are the details that break a copy-paste into Excel, and the reason a Truist statement rarely lands cleanly on the first try:

  • Legacy BB&T and SunTrust PDFs in the same archive use different column orders.
  • Overdraft and returned item fees are grouped into their own fee summary block.
  • Some merged-era statements repeat the account header mid-document.
  • US statements print dates month first, which is what a US-configured spreadsheet expects.

What you get back

Every Truist conversion returns the same columns, in USD, so statements from different months and different accounts stack in one spreadsheet without rework:

DateDescriptionAmountBalance
2026-03-04CARD PAYMENT TO SUPERMARKET-64.202,481.19

Check the export before you use it: opening balance plus the sum of the amount column should equal the closing balance printed on your Truist statement.

Why not just export from Truist directly?

Use the direct export when it covers the period you need. It rarely does. Direct CSV, OFX and QBO downloads are usually capped at a recent window, while PDF statements stay available for years, and they are the only thing left once an account is closed. Converting the PDF removes the date limit entirely.

Frequently asked questions

+Do old BB&T and SunTrust statements still convert?

Yes. The layout is read from the document itself rather than from a fixed Truist template, so legacy statements work.

+Are Truist fees separated from normal transactions?

Fees come through as their own dated rows so you can filter or categorise them in one step.

+Is the Truist statement converter free?

Yes. No signup, no email and no watermark on the output. The only limit is a 10MB file size.

+Do you store my Truist statement?

No. The PDF is processed in memory to build the CSV and is never written to disk or retained.

+Is this service affiliated with Truist?

No. This is an independent tool with no connection to Truist. It reads a PDF you already have and never connects to your account.
