About Mercury statements
Mercury is startup banking, so its statements are clean, digital and usually paired with an accountant who wants everything in Xero or QuickBooks by month end.
How to download your Mercury statement as a PDF
Sign in at mercury.com, open the account, go to Statements, and download the monthly PDF.
Always take the statement file the bank issues rather than printing a transaction list from the browser. The issued statement is the document of record, and it converts more reliably than a printed page.
What a Mercury statement looks like
A summary of beginning balance, money in, money out and ending balance sits above a chronological transaction table.
Mercury quirks to watch for
These are the details that break a copy-paste into Excel, and the reason a Mercury statement rarely lands cleanly on the first try:
- Checking and Treasury accounts are documented separately.
- Virtual card spend carries the card label in the description.
- Wire and ACH entries include counterparty reference detail.
- US statements print dates month first, which is what a US-configured spreadsheet expects.
What you get back
Every Mercury conversion returns the same columns, in USD, so statements from different months and different accounts stack in one spreadsheet without rework:
| Date | Description | Amount | Balance |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2026-03-04 | CARD PAYMENT TO SUPERMARKET | -64.20 | 2,481.19 |
Check the export before you use it: opening balance plus the sum of the amount column should equal the closing balance printed on your Mercury statement.
Why not just export from Mercury directly?
Use the direct export when it covers the period you need. It rarely does. Direct CSV, OFX and QBO downloads are usually capped at a recent window, while PDF statements stay available for years, and they are the only thing left once an account is closed. Converting the PDF removes the date limit entirely.
Frequently asked questions
+Why convert Mercury statements when there is an API?
For historical months, closed accounts, or when your accountant only has the PDF, converting is faster than rebuilding an integration.
+Are virtual card labels preserved?
Yes, the card label stays in the description so per-card spend can be split.
+Is the Mercury statement converter free?
Yes. No signup, no email and no watermark on the output. The only limit is a 10MB file size.
+Do you store my Mercury statement?
No. The PDF is processed in memory to build the CSV and is never written to disk or retained.
+Is this service affiliated with Mercury?
No. This is an independent tool with no connection to Mercury. It reads a PDF you already have and never connects to your account.
