About Chime statements

Chime statements are mobile-first and minimal: one clean list of transactions with no check sections and no printed clutter. They are among the fastest statements to convert.

How to download your Chime statement as a PDF

Open the Chime app or chime.com, go to Settings then Documents or Statements, and download the monthly PDF.

Always take the statement file the bank issues rather than printing a transaction list from the browser. The issued statement is the document of record, and it converts more reliably than a printed page.

What a Chime statement looks like

A short summary of money in and money out sits above a single chronological transaction table with description and amount.

Chime quirks to watch for

These are the details that break a copy-paste into Excel, and the reason a Chime statement rarely lands cleanly on the first try:

  • Checking and Savings statements are issued as separate documents.
  • Round-up savings transfers create many small paired entries.
  • Descriptions carry the merchant name as it appeared on the card network.
  • US statements print dates month first, which is what a US-configured spreadsheet expects.

What you get back

Every Chime conversion returns the same columns, in USD, so statements from different months and different accounts stack in one spreadsheet without rework:

DateDescriptionAmountBalance
2026-03-04CARD PAYMENT TO SUPERMARKET-64.202,481.19

Check the export before you use it: opening balance plus the sum of the amount column should equal the closing balance printed on your Chime statement.

Why not just export from Chime directly?

Use the direct export when it covers the period you need. It rarely does. Direct CSV, OFX and QBO downloads are usually capped at a recent window, while PDF statements stay available for years, and they are the only thing left once an account is closed. Converting the PDF removes the date limit entirely.

Frequently asked questions

+Why does my bookkeeper need a Chime PDF converted?

Chime has no accounting integration for many workflows, so a CSV export from the statement is the practical way to get the ledger into QuickBooks or Xero.

+Do round-up transfers clutter the export?

They appear as real rows, which is correct for reconciliation. Filter by description in your spreadsheet if you want them collapsed.

+Is the Chime statement converter free?

Yes. No signup, no email and no watermark on the output. The only limit is a 10MB file size.

+Do you store my Chime statement?

No. The PDF is processed in memory to build the CSV and is never written to disk or retained.

+Is this service affiliated with Chime?

No. This is an independent tool with no connection to Chime. It reads a PDF you already have and never connects to your account.
