How to download your bank statements as PDF

Every bank hides statements in a slightly different place, but the pattern is consistent enough that you can find them in under a minute on any platform.
The usual path
Sign in, open the specific account rather than the dashboard, then look for Statements, Documents, or Statements & Documents. Choose the period and download the PDF. On mobile apps the same section usually sits under a settings or profile menu rather than on the account screen.
How far back statements go
Online availability varies far more than people expect, and it is almost always longer than the CSV or OFX export window:
- Many US banks keep seven years of PDF statements online
- UK banks commonly keep six years, matching record-keeping rules
- Direct CSV or OFX export is often capped at 90 days to two years
- App-only banks sometimes keep the full account history
Closed accounts
Once an account closes, online access usually goes with it. If you know a closure is coming, download every statement first. If it has already happened, the bank can normally retrieve archived statements on request, sometimes for a per-statement fee.
Download the real PDF, not a print
Printing a transaction list to PDF from the browser produces a screenshot-like document that is harder to convert and is not the statement of record. Always take the bank's issued statement file.
